Social Media

Social media is a broadly encompassing term to describe the idea that individuals not professionally employed in the media space (such as newspapers, radio and TV stations, book publishers, movie producers, etc.) can broadcast their own content for others to consume.

Publicly publishing content on the Fediverse is—by definition—participating in social media.
